One thing I really love about running my own tiny blog is that I can write about pretttyyy much anything without giving a fuck about… yeah pretty much anyone else. The only thing I care about, dear reader, is bringing you pictures and a decent amount of information about stuff you might not know yet, or places worthy of us geeks you might not have visited yet. So if you ever happen to visit France, and Metz in particular and go visit this fine little shop because you read about it on GEEKCITING!, please let me know. It’ll make my fucking day.
The place is called Hisler BD and as the name of the shop implies its main products are of course BD-related. After all we are in France, and in France (like in the Benelux countries) BDs are THE shit. Spider-Man might be a world-wide billion selling branch but over here, Tintin, Lucky Luke and Astérix are the big sellers.
But of course they don’t only sell BDs. Ohhh no. Don’t fear dear otakus, they also sell manga. Tons of manga. They pretty much have every manga currently published in France and all the goodies derived from the most famous and beloved series.
Like every decent geek shop they also, of course, sell comic books. Aahh comic books. Apparently they have over 1000 issues. I don’t know… I didn’t count… anyways they do have a decent amount of comic books but unfortunately they only sell French editions.
They also have a ”Expo/Vente” section where you can buy (rather expensive) posters and fine art prints based on famous comic book & BD characters.
Whenever I go to Metz I always like to go to the Hisler BD shop. And believe me when I say that I never leave empty-handed… NEVER. They have tons of cool stuff and are extremely nice people. So don’t be a dick, go say hi. Cheers!
